Car Coatings On Top Of Paint Protection Film
Here at SR International, we’ve been busy for a long time getting Calgary car owners set up with true protection on their paint jobs. When people see our selection of coatings and films, they often ask us which we would recommend – but that decision comes down to a lot of factors, and there are always a few people who want the best of both worlds. But did you know that you actually can have both? Putting a coating on film is uncommon, but it’s completely possible and it does have some benefits over one or the other.
The underlying film layer provides superior protection against rock chips and scratches, which is great for long highway drives, side streets, and general wear and tear over time. The paint protection coating, on the other hand, gives a whole array of bonuses. It increases glossiness, making your whole vehicle shine; it provides better chemical resistance against bugs, tree sap, particulates in rainwater, and bird droppings; it’s super-hydrophobic, making car washes a breeze – and it adds another layer between the outside environment and the film, making it easier to clean and wipe off when you want to go back to that showroom finish. And the best part is, it doesn’t void your film’s warranty. It actually adds value to your paint job!
Since the coating doesn’t bond quite as strongly to the film as it does to the paint on a molecular level, the coating will not last as long as, say, our Titanium products. But you can expect to get a year of life out of it, which is plenty of time to enjoy the benefits and impress your neighbours!
If you’re still not sold on the advantages of getting a nano-coating on your car or truck – well, we’ll let our reviews speak for themselves. You don’t want to go into the tough Calgary winter (after the sweltering summer months) without something to protect your paint from the wind, rain, frost, and snow. Give us a call at 403-230-1166, or visit us at our new location at #80, 4797 22 St SE, near the intersection of Deerfoot Trail and Peigan Trail. We look forward to helping you get the most out of your vehicle’s paint job!
